Photoshop Plug-In Filters

A series of effects based on traditional photography equipment and techniques. They are not meant to be complex or exact matches, merely a quick and easy method to achieve results that are similar to what can be produced via conventional non-digital formats.

Ideal for the beginner or for those photographers who are just moving over to digital-editing and wish to use effects that seem more familiar, rather than the more "technical" software they may sometimes encounter.

Experienced users may wonder why anyone would need to use such simple effects, but the answer is simple ... speed! While it is possible to create the same effects manually using virtually any image-editor these days, the plug-ins offer you a way to speed-up the process by incorporating the necessary features in one simple dialog, saving the need to run through a series of different functions to end up with the same result.

Here is a basic overview of what plug-ins you can expect in this series ...

• Optical Filters : Similar to the variety you place over your camera lens
• Film FX : Replicate the effects and values of traditional film stock
• Digital Darkroom : Edit your photos at the comfort of your desktop

The Mac versions of these plug-ins differ slightly from the Windows editions because the originals were developed on the PC platform using a more advanced compiler. As a result some of the features are missing from the Mac versions. I do try my best to support both platforms but please be aware of the limitations I may encounter when converting from Win to Mac.
